Jake and Cassie Greatens want to put Tampa on the map for art.
After traveling throughout the world, they realized Tampa was lacking a contemporary art scene. The duo set out to change that by creating a space for emerging artists and art enthusiasts who want to push the envelope.
Since opening CASS, Contemporary Art Space and Studio, in May, the gallery has showcased a variety of work — from Los Angeles celebrity pop artist Michael Turchin to Chinese mixed media artist Kirk Ke Wang.
When the Greatens aren’t busy running CASS, or balancing activities between their four children, you can find this foodie duo at numerous local restaurants or farmers markets in the Tampa Bay area.
In this week’s segment of “5 minutes with Tampa locals,” we interview Cassie Greatens to find out more about the artistic couple.
