Tristan Eaton: Lately — A Bold New Chapter at CASS Contemporary

CASS Contemporary is thrilled to present “Tristan Eaton: Lately,” a dynamic new solo exhibition from the internationally celebrated artist Tristan Eaton. Marking Eaton’s debut solo exhibition in Nashville, this show unveils an exclusive collection of brand-new works on wood and paper, each piece showcasing his signature fusion of fine art, street culture, and graphic design.

A Glimpse Into the Human Experience

Eaton’s latest body of work offers an intimate exploration of emotion and existence. “This is a collection of very personal paintings showcasing the duality of the human experience,” Eaton explains. “Mostly featured as diptychs, these works use gallows humor and spray paint to explore the impact of love, loss, and death on our daily lives.”

The result is a deeply personal and visually striking exhibition — one that captures the raw beauty of vulnerability while celebrating the vibrant energy that defines Eaton’s artistic vision.

A Trailblazer Across Worlds

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Tristan Eaton’s journey through art has been one of bold experimentation and boundary-pushing creativity. From his teenage years as a graffiti artist to his groundbreaking work designing the iconic Dunny and Munny toys for Kidrobot, Eaton has continuously blurred the lines between commercial art and fine art.

As the founder of Thunderdog Studios, he’s collaborated with global powerhouses such as Nike, Hublot, SpaceX, Sphere Las Vegas, and Universal, bringing his distinctive aesthetic to audiences around the world. His large-scale murals, painted entirely freehand, adorn walls in Paris, New York, Shanghai, and beyond — serving as global landmarks of modern street art.

Legacy and Influence

Eaton’s fine artwork has earned a place in prestigious collections, including those of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. His 25-year retrospective at the Long Beach Museum of Art cemented his reputation as a leading figure in contemporary art.

Adding to his unique résumé are licensing partnerships with Marvel and Universal Studios, positioning Eaton as one of the few artists who seamlessly bridges the worlds of pop culture and fine art.

A Celebration of Creativity in Nashville

“This exhibition truly captures Tristan’s ability to balance raw energy with thoughtful storytelling,” says Cassie Greatens of CASS Contemporary. “We’ve followed Tristan’s career and been close friends for years, and we’re so excited to be a part of bringing his work to Nashville.”

“Tristan Eaton: Lately” is more than an exhibition — it’s an invitation to experience art that is as emotionally resonant as it is visually electrifying. Whether you’re an art lover, collector, or curious newcomer, this show offers a rare opportunity to witness Eaton’s evolution up close
