Sarah Nassar

Sarah Nassar is a Visual Artist born and raised on Maui, Hawai‘i, and of Egyptian descent. Her work explores the intersection of her Hawaiian upbringing and Egyptian heritage, examining the similarities and dichotomies between cultures from opposite ends of the world while navigating life in the contemporary moment. Spirituality, particularly Islam, serves as a guiding force within her practice, offering a source of wisdom that reflects the shared connections between people and how we navigate the world around us.

Through visual storytelling, Nassar reflects on identity, memory, and cultural continuity. Grounded in a deep appreciation for the role of visual art throughout history, she views art as a universal language and is committed to creating work that fosters community, dialogue, and shared understanding.
