Oakland-based artist Allison Hueman creates dynamic paintings, murals, site-specific installations,and new media works that oscillate between abstraction and representation of human form. Drivenby instinct and experimentation, Huemanrenders sublime and transcendent experiences byabstracting figures, layering and enveloping them in vivid colors with paint and textiles. Her practicedraws from a constellation of art movements--from spontaneity in abstract expressionism and theethereal quality of the Light and Space movement to the rich drama of the Baroque period. Huemanblends these influences, exploring themes of movement, spirituality, and the unseen. She hasreceived prestigious large-scale projects throughout the US, as well asmajor collaborations with theGolden State Warriors, Jordan, Estee Lauder, Adobe, and Forever 21, to name a few.Hueman hasparticipated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and her work is part of several public andprivate collections, including the homes of Daveed Diggs, Usher, and Swizz Beats. Hueman receiveda BA in Design | Media Arts at UCLA.
