Joram Roukesis a multi-disciplinary visual artist with a vast and impressive resume in the world of fine artand public mural arts.

Roukes graduated from the Minerva Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen, The Netherlandsin 2006 andhas since worked on countless public art projects and exhibitions both in the Netherlands and abroad.Artist residencies in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, San Diego and Paris have furtherdeepenedhis artistic practices and solidified him as a staple artist in the New Urban Contemporary artmovement.

Roukes work is characterized by a collage-like approach to a broad range of subjects. Juxtaposing visualelements in this collage technique allows him the freedom to create compositionswith abstract narratives.The stories, meaning or sentiments derived from these compositions are heavily subjected by personalbackground, cultural context, experience and associative patterns from each individual viewer, yet oftenseem to be rooted in themes of contemporary culture.

In 2020, Roukes founded the DreamCourts project, which transforms outdoor public sportsgrounds intointeractive and monumental works of art. The DreamCourts projectutilize thecommunities’youth by wayof workshops to benefit them with a sense of ownership and responsibility.
